Manitobas are occasionally higher in sympathy with increased freights, but demand is quieter owing to freer offerings of La Platas. Parcels are in small request at 3d advance. Liverpool futures: December, March, and May, 9s 3Jd a cental. MINING NEWS LUCKY SHOT.—The manager reports: 'The drive south on the main reef off the bottom of No. 2 winze has been advanced Bft. The reef is 3ft wide; both •wails are exposed. Nice strong colours and dabs of gold have been visible in the foot wall portion during the week. When boring the face to-day we holed through to No. 7 winze. lam starting two of the men on Monday to clean out the low , on the Waiotahi side of the hill. This lever will come under both winzes, *‘ v « considerable more backs, and thus simplify the future development of the mine.*’
