FLOODS IN INDIA VILLAGES OBLITERATED (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) DELHI, Wednesday. The floods are increasing. On the Madras coast they are the worst experienced for 20 years. The countryside is inundated for hundreds of miles. Villages and homesteads have been completely obliterated. It is feared that a heavy loss of cattle has been incurred. Long stretches of railway line, bridges and stations have been demolished. The bodies of two missing Europeans and the Indian driver have been recovered from the engine which was derailed yesterday. The rainfall totalled 16in. during the week-end. Rail and telegraphic traffic are dislocated.
