MAJOR WILKIE TO STAND Although the biennial municipal elections do not take place until Jta:' of next year, vague election shad tr** are already commencing to take det:.ite shape in Takapuna Borough. Major A. H. Wilkie announce* th>it is his definite intention to con*--the mayoralty of that borough. Wilkie was a member of the Borough Council for six consecufi*years, and for a considerable chairman of its legal and finance axa public services committees. It is rumoured that it is not present intention of Mr. J. , liamson to seek re-election, althotu no public announcement to that en has yet been made.
