POLA NEGRI TO-MORROW This evening will see the last performance of Esther Ralston’s latest comedy-drama, “Half a Bride.” Miss Ralston plays to perfection the role of a wilful millionaire, who was wrecked on a desert island with the captain of her father's yacht. They are there for months, and when rescued by a passing steamer Esther goes back to her people a changed and reasonable girl. Gary Cooper is seen as the captain. Pola Negri as the good woman who took a wrong turning is the role she plays in her latest starring Paramount picture, “The Three Sinners,” which comes to the New Regent on Friday. A devoted wife, a fond mother, she
left her home innocently bent upon visiting: her sister. Then Fate stepped in, diverted her footsteps into strange paths, wrecked her life and tore home and friends from her grasp. An entirely new programme will be given by the popular Stage Band tomorrow. This will be entitled “Fads and Fashions" *(1928 to 1950), and featured items will include “Dainty Miss,” with Lingerie Ballet, tho original Blackbottom Ballet, with Banjo Sextet; Mildred Personality Girl from the Ambassadors, Sydney, in “Sentimental Baby,” and finally Sammy Porter and Lucille Carne, in new dances. The musical side will again be under the baton of Mr. Maurice Guttridge.
