DOMINIONS’ DAIRY SHOW AWARDS IN LONDON (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) LONDON, Wednesday. At the dairy show the Dominion competitions resulted:— Butter, salted, 75 entries.—Candelo, New South Wales, 96 points, 1; Comboyne and Gloucester. New South Wales, each 95, 2; South Australian Farmers, Narracporte, and Gayndah, Queensland, Unsalted butter, 61 entries.—Oakey, Queensland, 96 points, 1; South Wolumla, New South Wales, 95i, 2 and reserve; Maryborough, Queensland, 945, 2; Downs, Dalby, Queensland, and Shannon, New Zealand, each 94, 3; very highly commended—Northern Central, New South Wales, 93J. Cheese.—New Zealand won all the prizes. Edendale 1, Cardiff 2, Fairfax South Africa took all the awards for eggs and bacon. The Australian Trade Publicity Department had a large and excellent display, comprising butter, cheese, eggs, bacon, and honey, and photographs of dairy farms and pastoral scenes, which attracted much attention. The- department sold attractive twopenny samples of butter and threepenny jars of honey. The judges of the Dominion butter speak most highly of the general quality of the exhibits. The judge of the unsalted class, who is a buyer for one of the larges blending firms, said he would willingly have purchased all but six of the exhibits if they had been offered to him at Tooley Street. POVERTY BAY SHOW Press Association * GISBORNE, Wednesday. The forty-ninth annual show of Poverty Hay A. and P. Association, probably the most successful in the history of the organisation, was brought to a conclusion to-day in delightful weather, when a record crowd was present on the occasion of People’s Day.
