; “Circus Rookies” marks the third hilarious appearance of Karl Bane I George K. Arthur, and this picture k now at the Capitol Theatre, it ». unique in that it is an intimate storv ! of circus life, with thrills and hilari ous comedy mixed up with a charming j little romance. Dane plays the role of an animal I tamer, chaperoning a giant gorilla while Arthur is a perky little reporter | who repeatedy incurs the enmity of the slow-witted but pertinacious anima : 1 trainer. Thrills before the target of a knik [ thrower, wild chases with the aner gorilla, and breath-taking stunts on a ! trapeze are among the highlights of the story. Louise Lorraine plays the | leading feminine role. “Loves of Carmen,” the story of the { great opera with Dolores Bel Rio a' j Carmen, is also being shown. Jim Tullv, the author of “Beggar.' of Life,” the tramp story with Wallace Beery in a dramatic role, has just finished titling the production. Richard Arlen and Louise Brooks will be seen in featured parts.
