KAIKOHE CLUB (From Our Own Correspondent) KAIKOHE, Tuesday. The official opening- of the Kaikohe j Bowling Club took place on Labour Pay lin dull and threatening weather. The Kawakawa and Rawene Clubs were each represented by two rinks. The president, Mr. E. H. Henderson. welcomed the visitors. Mr. Henderson presented the single championship trophy won last season by Mr. R. Williams, also the set of bowls won by Mr. E. liogan. Congratulations were tendered to the Russell Club on winning the Buxton Shield, but it was mentioned that it was the intention of the Kaikohe Club to challenge for the trophy at the next tournament. V Mrs. Leigh threw the first jack, scoring a “toucher,” and the green was then declared open. Results of games were:— Kaikohe Bowlers.—Roberts. King. Fuller, McCown, 23. beat C. Read. Fergusson.
