GOING TO THE RACES
PARTY’S ADVENTUROUS TRIP COLLISION AND BROKEN WHEEL (From Our Oxen Correspondent) HAMILTON, To-day. A chapter of accidents frustrated atJtempts by Mr. W. Bates and party, of J* Uku, to reach Cambridge by car in lme for the first race yesterday. At 8.30 the car collided with a car driven by Frank Beagley, of Hamilton, ®n the Raglan Deviation. Nobody was hurt, but extensive damage was done to b otb vehicles. Bates and party transferred to a jar owned by Mr. G. McKay, of Te Cku. They had hardly gone a few >ards when one of the front wheels colapsed. The occupants wheeled the vehicle to the scene of the former Incident and changed the wheel off “ates's car to that of McKay's. After two hours' delay the party anally showed the district a clean Pair of heels.
