PARITY DEMANDED

AMERICA AND HER NAVY (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) WASHINGTON, Saturday. The Secretary of the Navy, Mr. Curtis D. Wilbur, has invited a widespread observance of Navy Day on Saturday next. He says:— This country stands for a limitation of naval armaments complete as to all types of ships, with total quotas small enough to ensure moderate expenditure. All is on the basis of America having parity with any other country in order that she may be able to protect the greatest sea-borne commerce in the world and ensure the livelihood of the most populous of modern nations.
