Picnickers Depart In Laden Steamers
Disregarding an overcast sky, hundreds of picnickers congregated at the ferry wharves this | morning, and hoarded the steam- \ ers hound for holiday resorts. Tico hands lent.a touch of colour and gaiety to the outings, and the crowds were in the best of spirits. The Rangitoto made its first run of the season to Matiatia, packed with people, and the Labour picnic to Pine Island also attracted a oimfortable number. At 9.30, about 300 people waited outside the Ferry Buildings and watched i the weather signs. Later, the ' majority of these joined, the various parties.
