RIALTO, AND REGENT, EPSOM
“SPORTING GOODS” “Sporting Goods.'’ now showing at: the Rialto and Regent (Epsom) Theatres, is a picture of the class for which Richard X>ix is most famous, | and in which he has scored his big- { cest successes. It is pure farce, j w Never for a minute to be taken seri- ! ously, it shows Dix as a salesman of a I new kind of golf suit which he has in- ! vented. Mistaken for a young multimillionaire, he is forced to sell a record I order in order to get himself out of the deception gracefully. Of course, there’s a girl mixed up in it all, and, of course, Dix wins her in the end. “The Showdown,” the second picture, is a different type—it is powerful drama. The scenes are laid in the * backblocks of Mexico, and deal with Ithe search for oil. Evelyn Brent and George Bancroft are the stars.
