95-MILE RIDE BELLRINGER’S RECORD TIME Press Association NEW PLYMOUTH, Saturday. The annual road race of 95 miles, round Mount Egmont, was won by Lehrke, with Plumtree second and Bullot third. After the placed men came Aroa, Gilbert, Bellringer, Yardley, Weir, Francis, Gargan, Hill, Ellis, Prebble and Lindop. McCann fell five miles from home and gav© up. Detailed results: C. The weather was showery this morning, but cleared for the start, promising to be fine for the journey. The Mayor, Mr. Victor Griffiths, dispatched the limit men on the 40-minute mark, and each group got away well. Cheers were raised as the scratch trio left. L. Hill led away with McCann lying third. The winner should arrive at the racecourse about 3.30 p.m. Conditions on the next stage were more favourable but several riders pulled out before reaching Kaponga, which the scratch men passed at 1.41 p.m. Riding well the leaders reached Eltham at 1.40 p.m. and the scratch men at 2 p.m. together. Bullot, Gilbert, Thorpe, Ellis anti Lehrke reached Stratford at 2.2 p.m. and A. Gargan at 2.5. Then came Wiley, W. Prebble, Bellringer, Lindon, Aroa, Ward, L. Gargan at 2.9, and Doeg at 2.12 p.m. At Opunake (40 miles) at 12.30) p.m. Doeg led tho way from Thorpe, Ellis. Plumtree, Gilbert and Ward, followed two minutes later by Bullot, Lehrke, Claffey and Kopu. Half a minute behind them came Henderson alone at 12.35 p.m.; Standish at 12.361; Percival and N. Parker at 12.371; Hunter, Collingwood, Stockman, W. Prebble, Frost, Smith, Herbert, Francis, Wiley, at 12.41 A p.m.; Bocock, Johnston, Morlock, S. W. Crutchley at 12.44; Lindop, Jordan, Yardley, Crofts, A. C. Hill, L. Gargan, Aroa, Bellringer, Smith,, at 2.15 and the scratch men still together at 2.21 p.m. At Inglewood the order at 2.46 p.m. was:—Lehrke, Gilbert, Plumtree, E. Bullot and Ellis at 2.51; a bunch of eight, with Yardley and Bellringer leading. At 3.1 p.m.: Collingwood and another. At 3.5 p.m., McCanfi, Hill, Austin, Jordan and Johnstone.
