ROTORUA REFORM MEMBER

MR. HOCKLY AT MATAMATA (Special to THE SUN) MATAMATA, Friday. Despite the heavy rain on Thursday evening, the Matamata Town Hall was well filled, when Mr. F. F. Hockly, Reform candidate for Rotorua, gave his first political addres at Matamata.

The chairman of the Matamata Town Board, Mr. J. Buchanan, presided. Mr. Hockly was given a very favourable reception, and his speech, which was on the lines of his opening address at Rotorua, created a good impression. At the conclusion of the candidate’s address Mr. H. Rollett and Mr. J. Brice, two prominent members of the local branch of the Farmers’ Union, moved a vote of thanks to Mr. Hockly, which was carried with enthusiasm.
