SCHOLARSHIPS. J> AWLI NG S SCHOLARSHIP. The Trustees under the Will of the late Humphrey Rawlings offer three Scholarships for competition in December next. The Scholarships are tenable for three years, commencing from the first term in the year 1929, and consist of free tuition at either the Auckland Grammar School or King's College as the parents of the scholars may choose. A maintenance allowance of £lO per annum, payable quarterly, will also be advanced to each scholar. Only boys under the age of twelve years on December 1 next, attending one of the public common schools of the Provincial District of Auckland, and the sons of poor parents, will be eligible for the Scholarship. Notice is hereby given that by an Order of the Court of Arbitration dated September 14, 1928, the application of the Auckland (12 miles radius) Motor Engineers’ Apprenticeship Order dated March 23, 1925, was extended to include all apprentices and their employers within a radius of twenty miles of the Seddon Memorial Technical College at Auckland. The amending order further provides that every employer engaged in the above industry and the above locality who desires to employ an apprentice shall, before engaging a prpposed apprentice make written application to the Motor Engineering Apprenticeship Committee for its approval.
