OLD MAN'S SUICIDE

TRAGEDY AT INFIRMARY Charles Kendrick, a single man aged 83, was found dead in a ward of the Auckland Infirmary early yesterday afternoon. His raxor was on the floor beside his bed and his throat was cut. Giving evidence at an inquest held this morning. Dr. Alexander Neil MeKelvery, medical superintendent of thd Auckland Infirmary, 3aid that he had been called to the ward shortly after 1 o’clock yesterday afternoon where he had found Kendrick with his thoat cut. His razor, covered with blood, was on the floor beside the bed.

Kendrick was suffering from heart disease and had lately experienced difficulty in breathing. He had no relatives in New Zealand. A verdict of “suicide caused by a self-inflicted wound with a razor” was returned.
