A WEIGHTY TRAGEDY An unforeseen development recently set at naught the careful plans of a young American producer. It resulted in one of the most pathetic endings of what seemed to be a brilliant Hollywood career, that has been recorded for some years. Th,e case was that of Josephine Lido, writes an American paragraphist. She was imported from Europe by Carle Laemmle, junr. It was unfortunate not only for the girl but for young Laemmle, who thought to go Sam Goldwyn one better in making a European discovery.
