PLUNKET SOCIETY BALL

i IN FANCY DRESS The Ngatea Hall was the scene of a very gay fancy dress ball last Wednesday evening in aid of the local branch of the Plunket Society. There was a record attendance. The judges were Mesdames Bell and' Baigent, of Turua, and parties from the Ngatea School and the Ngatea Glee Club gave exhibition dances. Mr. J. Neate was M.C. and the music was played by Miss L. Birkenhead and Messrs. J. King, S. Coppins, M. Martin and A. Kawini. After supper Mrs. W. G. Hayward, president of the local branch of the society, presented the prizes. The following were the prizewinners:— Tiny Tots.—Yvonne Jackson, Cupid; girls, under 5 years, Best, M Motion, Fairy; most original, B. McDuff, Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe.
