Lorry Driver’* Death The death occurred early this morning in the Wellington Hospital of Robert Bell, aged 36. a lorry driver, who was severely burned and had his neck partly cut when attempting to escape from a blazing whare at Pmraparaumu early on Friday morning.—P.A. a m m Motor-Cyclist* Injured A car driven by Mr. John Waite, of Hamilton, and a motor-cycle ridden by two young men, Mr. McPhec and Mr. Allen Brunton. of Hamilton, met in a head-on ollision in Victoria Street at II o’clock last night. The cyclists received bruises and abrasions. The front of tho car was badly damaged. Minor damage was done to the cycle. Apprenticeship Order A notice appearing in this issue deals with the recent order of the Court of Arbitration extending the area in a 12- mile radius, to 20 miles from the Seddon Memorial Technical College, forming the Auckland district for motor engineering apprentices. The notice affects apprentices and their employers. An Unwanted Car For the past fortnight an old model two-seater Standard motor-car has been standing in the bottom of the gully in Alexander Street, off Eden Terrace. No such car has been reported to tho police as missing. Children in the vicinity delight in their new playground and unless the owner, if any. does not claim it the car will soon be a complete ruin. % * * * Told to Get Work
Gabbling unintelligibly, a Finnish youth Urhe Lunard Lcino, made if difficult for anyone to understand him when charged with being idle and disorderly in the Hamilton Police Court to-day. Tho police said Leino made contradictory statements, and was recently begging in Matamata. Mr. Wyvern Wilson. S.M.. warned the accused to leave town and to get work, and convicted and disch;irged him.
