BRITAIN’S STOCK LOW

MR. MACDONALD’S FEARS (Australian and. 25 7. Z. Press Association) LONDON, Friday. The Leader of the British Labour Party, Mr. Ramsay MacDonald, returned to London to-day from the Continent. He told a “Daily Herald” reporter it was rather humiliating travelling in Europe and meeting men who either were the centre of action or were controlling public opinion to find that Britain’s stock was indeed low. All the influence Britain had was interpreted as being a malign one. Mr. MacDonald said he had found that Britain was slipping out of European influence. That situation was most dangerous. Britain must either be in Europe and have influence on Europe, or live on her own lines free from any European entanglements whatsoever.
