HEAVY DAMAGES GIVEN
SPECULATION BY EMPLOYEE PERTH, Thursday. The firm of Brown, Bureau, Ltd., was given judgment against Robert Spaven, its former manager at Perth, from whom it claimed «£ 14,343 for his alleged speculations in flour, jute, bran and pollard, which involved the firm in considerable loss. Immediate judgment was given for £5,296, plus £7,449, from which the defendant is entitled to deduct any profits made on his unauthorised transactions.
