LLOYD GEORGE AT RACES
FIRST TIME IN LIFE VISITOR TO NEWMARKET British Official Wireless RUGBY, Wednesday. Mr. Lloyd George, Leader ot the Liberal Party, to-day attended a race meeting for the first time in his life. He was staying near Newmarket as the guest of Viscount St. Davids, and took the opportunity of going with his host to see the Cesarewitch. Mr. George showed great interest in the proceedings, both in the paddock and on the racecourse. He declined td make a bet, though many bookmakers were willing to give him generous odds. In a chat with journalists, Mr. George defended his presence on the racecourse by saying that he believed anything which played so great a part in the social life of the nation as did horse-racing demanded his attention.
