O. A. KNUDSON AT SAN PEDRO.— Cabled news has been received by the Union Company that the tanker O. A. Knudson arrived at San Pedro on Sunday from Wellington. The vessel will load a further cargo of fuel oil for discharge into the company’s tanks at Miramar. MATAKANA LEAVES BALBOA—A cable message to the Shaw, Savill, and Albion Co., reports that the Matakana left Balboa on Monday afternoon for New Zealand ports, en route from Liverpool. The vessel is due at Auckland on November 4. WIRRAL LEAVES PANAMA.—The New Zealand Shipping Company are in receipt of cabled news that the Wirral arrived at Panama on Saturday from Montreal, and sailed again on the same day for New Zealand. The vessel is due at Auckland on November 10. EASTMOOR LEAVES MONTREAL. — Cabled news has been received by the Canadian National Steamships that the Eastfnoor left Montreal on October 16 with general cargo to discharge at Auckland, Wellington, .Lyttelton and Dunedin. The vessel is due at Auckland on November 27. NORFOLK LEAVES PANAMA. Cabled news has been received by the New Zealand Shipping Company that the Norfolk arrived at Panama on Sunday from London, and sailed again on Tuesday for Suva and New Zealand ports. The vessel is due at Auckland on November 9.
WAIHEMO AT VANCOUVER.—The Union Company lias received cabled advice that the Waihemo, from Suva, arrived at Vancouver at 6 p.m., on Monday. She will load at Powell River, Union Bay, and Ocean Falls, clearing the last-named port about October 2S for San Francisco to complete loading for Auckland, Wellington, Melbourne and Sydney, and is expected to clear San Francisco on November 5.
CANADIAN EXPLORER ARRIVES*— Yesterday afternoon the Canadian National Steamships’ steamer Canadian Explorer arrived at Auckland from Montreal and berthed at the Prince’s Wharf to unload the local portion of her cargo. The vessel left Montreal on September 8 and experienced good weather for the greater part of her voyage. However, on Tuesday night she met bad weather, running into hail storms and heavy rain. Auckland is the only New Zealand port to be visited by the vessel on her present voyage, and she is expected to sail about next Wednesday for Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane. Captain W. Wyman is in command and with him are the following officers: —Chief officer. Mr. C. Stewart: second, Mr. B. G. Allen: third. Mr. T. MqGonigle; chief engineer, Mr. F. C. Brown: second, Mr. C. Da.vies; third, Mr. .T. McKissock: fourth, Mr. R. Howard: wireless operjytor. Mr. A. Douglas; chief steward, Mr. C. O’Hanlon.
SEAGULL DELAYED —.The scow Seagull has been delayed at Whangapoa by a damaged rudder. She is to be towed to Auckland and is due here to-morrow. WAIRUNA SAILING. —At 5 o’clock this afternoon the local office of the Union Company hopes to dispatch the steamer Wairuna from Auckland to Apia, Samoa, Fanning Island and Vancouver. DAMAGED PILES. —As the Union Company’s collier Balls Head was berthing at the King’s Wharf this morning, she struck the shock piles and damaged three of them. The vessel received no damage to herself. WAIPAHI SAILED. —The Union Company’s fruit steamer Waipalii, which has been unloading fruit from Suva at Prince’s Wharf, left last evening on her return to Suva to load another cargo of fruit for Auckland. AORANGI LEAVES VANCOUVER. — Cable advice reecived by the local office of the Union Company states that the R.M.M.S. Aorangi left Vancouver at noon last Wednesday via ports for Auckland and Sydney. She is due here on November 4, and at Sydney the following Friday. THE CANADIAN TRAVELLER. —The Canadian National Steamships have been notified by cablegram that the Canadian Traveller arrived at Panama and left there on Sunday, en route from Montreal to New Zealand ports. She is due on the New Zealand coast on November 12. THE KAZEMBE. —The New Zealand Shipping Company’s chartered steamer Kazembe left Suva for Auckland yesterday, in continuation of her voyage from New York. The vessel has case oil and general cargo for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. She is due at Auckland on Monday.
NIAGARA CLEARS SYDNEY. —According to cable advice the Union Company’s R.M.S. Niagara sailed from Sydney this morning for Auckland, where she is due next Monday evening. She is announced to sail from this port at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 24, for Suva, Honolulu, Victoria and Vancouver. SALTERSGATE FROM NAURU.— With a full cargo of phosphates from Nauru for discharge at Auckland, the steamer Saltersgate is expected to arrive at Auckland on Sunday and will commence unloading at King’s Wharf on Monday. Henderson and Macfarlane, Limited, are the local agents. TRONGATE WITH SULPHUR.— Advice has been received by Robert Millar and Company that the steamer Trongate left Galveston, Texas, on October 4 with sulphur for discharge at Auckland, Lyttelton and Australian ports. She is expected to arrive here on November 11. NAURU CHIEF ARRIVING.—The British Phosphate Commission’s steamer Nauru Chief is expected to reach Auckland on October 29 with a cargo of phosphates from Ocvean Island. The vessel was expected to sail yesterday, but the local agents, Henderson and Macfarlone. Limited, received no advice of her departure. LIONEL SAILS NOON. —The Norwegian motor-ship Lionel, which arrived at Auckland from Galveston, Texas, on Wednesday, completed discharge of the local consignment of her cargo of sulphur this morning, and sailed at noon to-day to continue discharge at New Plymouth. From there the vessel will go to Melbourne and Port Lincoln. GOLDEN BEAR’S PORTS.— The loading programme for the American steamer Golden Bear, which is to leave Los Angeles for Auckland on January 13, 1929, has been altered to, include Timaru as a loading port in addition to Auckland, Wellington and Lyttelton. The vessel is due at Auckland on February 25. Henderson and Macfarlane, Limited, are the local agents. GOLDEN CLOUD FOR NEW ZEALAND. —The American steamer Golden Cloud left Vancouver, en route to Auckland, on Wednesday. The vessel will load at other Pacific Coast ports before finally sailing from Los Angeles. She is due at Auckland on November 25, and will also discharge cargo at Wellington, Dunedin and Timaru. Henderson and Macfarlane, Ltd., are the local agents. RUAHINE’S LOADING ITINERARY.— The New Zealand Shipping Company’s steamer Ruahine, which arrived at Wellington from London and Southmpton last week, and which left for Lyttelton on Wednesday, is due at Auckland from Lyttelton on October 26 and will load here until November 3. The vessel will return to Wellington for further loading and will sail finally froam Napier on November 10. KARAMEA TO-MORROW EVENING.— With a cargo of general merchandise from England, the steamer Karamea is due at Auckland from London at five o’clock to-morrow evening. The vessel has a considerable cargo for Auckland, ; and is not likely to leave for 'Wellington before the end of next week. The local ! agents, A. S. Paterson and Company, Limited, have not yet received advice of the vessel’s loading ports.
