CLOSE OF THIRD SESSION Opening with a “Dickens Tea,” the third session of the Auckland Dickens Fellowship was closed most successfully last evening. ‘ The Chimes” was the book of the night, and the president, the Rev. A. B. Chappell, reviewed it. A sketch based on the “first quarter” was given, the characters being as follow: “Toby Veck,” Mr. E. K.dson; “Meg,” Mrs. D’Authreau; “Alderman Cute,” the president; “Filer,” Mr. McAdam; “Richard,” Mr. Gribble. The following readings were contributed: “At Sir Joseph Bowley’s,” (second quarter), Mrs. Culpan; “What the Bells Said” (third quarter), Mr. T. Clarkson; “Ringing in the New Year” jfourth quarter), Miss D. MacCormac.
