PRINCE EDWARD
“A NIGHT OF MYSTERY” An entirely new programme will be presented at the Prince Edward Theatre this evening, headed by the picture, “A Night of Mystery." < In this absorbing story. Adolphe Menjou has one of his best dramatic roles, that of a French cavalry officer, whose lips are sealed regarding a strango murder case. Evelyn Brent has tlie leading feminine role. “Wyoming" is the title of the second attraction, a stirring tale of the West, with the redoubtable Tim McCoy in the role of an Indian fighter. The beautiful actress, Dorothy Sebastian, has the supporting role. “CIRCUS ROOKIES” AT BRITANNIA The hilarious comedy by Karl Dane and Georg© K. Arthur, “Circus Rookies,” will be shown at the Britannia Theatre this evening. It starts in a circus, where we see intimate glimpses of how circus folk travel, live and work. Professionals stage a show. Dane gets a job as animal trainer and Arthur becomes the show’s press agent and then the fun begins. An entire circus performance is woven into the play, so the audience gets both circus and screen entertainment. Despite the hilarious comedy of the story, there is a pretty romance running through it, between Arthur as the earnest young press agent and Louise Lorraine, as the trapeze star. The second feature will be “Flames,” starring Virginia Valli. “A Girl in Every Port,” a Fox Films story of the sea, featuring Victor McLaglen, is shortly to be screened in Auckland. It is a spicy, thrilling journey to the most interesting and most romantic ports of the world, and its theme is the love affairs of a rough, soft-hearted first mate of a tramp steamer. Eight leading women, a dazzling array of Hollywood beauties —one for each port of call—and a supporting cast that includes many favourites, aid in the success of the screen story.
