MARKET BUOYANT
Further Rise in Renowns HEALTHY trading was recorded on ’Change this morning. A further rise took place in Renown Collieries, the market moving up to see sales at 16s.
A very firm tone is registered in the Insurance group, with buyers predominating. and all shares at levels where the prospect of immediate return Js low. South British show increased strength, with buyers offering 635, and no sellers, compared with sales at 62s 9d prior to the publication of the balance sheet. Renowns have again come to the fore in coals, sales taking place at 16s, to leave further buyers in at that figure. Pukemiros ar© easier, with sellers at 60s, supported by buyers at 68s 6d. Northern Steams are slightly weaker, sales of the ordinaries taking place at 14s 2d. compared with 14s 4d at the time of the last recorded sale over a fortnight ago.
Buyers of Bycrofts, Ltd., firmed to A brighter tone was registered in Taranaki Oils, a sale taking place at 7s. The market improved at mid-day to see more wanted at 7s 3d. Whittome-Stevenson are weak, sellers at 47s being unsupported. Business yesterday afternoon: On 'Change—Commercial Bank of Aus- ; tralia, 30s; Waihi Mining, 14s. Reported—Northern Steams, 14s 4d.
