GAOL FOR CAR CONVERTER

TOO MANY CASES SAYS S.M. (From Our Own Correspondent) HAMILTON, Wednesday. A sentence of 14 days’ imprisonment was imposed on Henry James Reid, aged 24, at the Hamilton Police Court to-day, for the conversion of a motorcar at Te Ahoha on Saturday. He was convicted for tho theft of benzine. Detective White said the accused abandoned the car after he had been chased by the owner in another car. Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M., said this class of offence was very prevalent, and the fact that he was a young man made no difference, as only young men took cars for their own use.
