ATHOLL FOR BUNKERS. The steamer Atholl leaves Wanganui to-day for Westport, where she bunkers before proceeding to Australia for loading. WESTMORELAND SAILING. The local office of the New Zealand Shipping Company hopes to dispatch the Federal steamer Westmoreland from Auckland this afternoon for London, via Panama. DANYBRYN FOR OCEAN ISLAND.— Henderson and Macfarlane advises that the Danybryn, which is bunkering at Westport, leaves there to-day for Ocean Island, wn?re she loads phosphates for New Zealand or Australia. NIAGARA FROM SYDNEY. Leaving Sydney on Friday for Auckland, the Union Company's R.M.S. Niagara is due here next Monday evening, and is scheduled to sail again next Wednesday, October 24, at 11 a.m. for Suva, Honolulu, Victoria and Vancouver. lONIC AT NAPIER. The White Star liner lonic arrived at Napier yesterday from Lyttelton and leaves to-morrow for Wellington. where she completes her loading, and finally departs at daybreak on Friday, October 26, for Southampton and London, via Panama. KAZEMBE AT SUVA.—The local office of the New Zealand Shipping Company has been advised that the A. and A. Line's chartered steamer Kazembe arrived at Suva on October 13 from New York and leaves to-morrow for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. She is due here next Monday.
BLUFF LIGHT SHIP. The Bluff light ship, which drifted away from its moorings last week, was replaced on Saturday night. BOSWORTH FROM TEXAS. The London steamer Bosworth, 6,661 tons, Is reported to have cleared Port Arthur, Texas, last Sunday with a cargo of case oil for discharge in New Zealand. RUAPEHU AT SOUTHAMPTON. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Ruapehu is reported to have reached Southampton last Monday. She was dispatched from Wellington on September 8. MAKURA FOR SYDNEY.—The local office of the Union Company has been advised that the R.M.S. Makura, which is due at Wellington on Monday morning from San Francisco via way ports, leaves again at noon on Wednesday, October 24, for Sydney. THE CANADIAN BRITISHER. The Canadian National Steamsr.ips have received cabled news that the Canadian Britisher arrived at New York last Thursday morning from Auckland, and sailed on Friday for Boston and Montreal. The vessel left Auckland on September 3. KAIRANGA FOR SOUTH AUSTRALIA.—The Union Company advises that the Kairanga will leave Wellington to-day for Edithburg, Wallaroo, Port Augusta, Adelaide and Melbourne, to load for New Plymouth, Auckland, Portland, Napier, Wellington, Castlecliff, Lyttelton and Dunedin SALTERS GATE FROM NAURU. An expected arrival at Auckland about the end of this week is the tramp steamer Saltersgate, with a full cargo of phosphates from Nauru Island. She will unload all the cargo at Auckland. Henderson and Macfarlane, Ltd., are the local agents. SYDNEY STEAMERS.—The Ulimaroa leaves Wellington at noon on Friday for Sydney and the Mar am a and the Maheno both sail from Sydney on Friday, the Marama for Wellington and the Maheno for Auckland. All- the three vessels are due at their arrival ports next Tuesday morning. RIMUTAKA SAILS TO-MORROW. At daybreak to-morrow the New Zealand Shipping Company’s steamer Rimutaka leaves Auckland for Dunedin, thence Nelson, to complete her discharge of London cargo. Later she loads on the New Zealand coast for her return voyage. WAITE MATA LEAVES LOS ANGELES.—CabIed news has been received by the Union Company that the Waitemata, with Pacific Coast cargo, left Los Angeles at 11 p.m. last Friday for Auckland, Napier, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Nelson and New Plymouth. She is due at Auckland on November 6. THE CANADIAN HIGHLANDER. Cabled news has been received by the Canadian National Steamships that the Canadian Highlander arrived at Panama last Friday morning from Montreal, and sailed again in the afternoon for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru, Dunedin and Napier. The vessel is due at Auckland on November 12. THE PORT FREMANTLE. The C. and D. Line motor-ship Port Fremantle left Bluff at 2.30 p.m. on Sunday for the Wanganui roadstead, where she arrived yesterday morning to continue loading. The vessel next will proceed to New Plymouth. thence Wellington, to complete, sailing finally from Wellington on October 31 for London, via Panama. WAIRUNA DUE TO-N IGHT.—A radio message received by the local office of the Union Company states that the Wairuna is expected to arrive at Auckland at 6.30 o’clock to-night from New Plymouth. She will berth later at the Queen’s Wharf to load for Apia, Samoa, Fanning Island and Vancouver. She is expected to leave here at 3 p.m. tomorrow. THE RUAHINE’S MOVEMENTS. The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that their liner Ruahine is to leave Wellington this afternoon for Lyttelton to complete discharge of her London cargo, and to commence loading. The vessel will subsequently load also at Auckland, Wellington, and Napier, and is to sail finally from Napier on November 10 for Southampton and London, via the Panama route. MAUI POMARE SAILS. Besides mails and cargo the Government motorship Maui Pomare, which left Auckland last evening for Apia, Samoa and Niue Island, took the following passengers:— Misses Bainbridge (2), R. Walter, Butler, Mesdames Bell, McDonald, Messrs. Blumhardt, Bush, Parkinson, Champtaloup, Head, Barraclough, Judge Acheson. The vessel returns to Auckland, via Lyttelton and Wellington, and is due on November 10. She clears this port again on November 12 for Norfolk Island. KARAMEA REPORTS. Wireless advice from the Shaw, Savill and Albion motor-ship Karamea, which is on her maiden voyage, states she will reach Auckland from London on Saturday. She has a large cargo of general merchandise, of which 5,400 tons is for Auckland and the remainder for Wellington. The Karamea is the last of the four new motor-ships which have been built for the company, and is* a sister ship to the Taranaki, Coptic and Zealandic, which have already visited Auckland . A. S. Paterson and Company, Ltd., are the local agents. CANADIAN NATIONAL STEAMERS. —The local office of the Canadian National Steamships has received advice that the Canadian Transporter is to leave Montreal for New Zealand on November 21. The vessel will be the last Canadian National steamer to leave Montreal for New Zealand before the St. Lawrence is closed for summer navigation. Later vessels will be dispatched from Halifax. The Canadian Highlander, which left Montreal on September 2S and Sydnev (Cape Breton) on October 2, is scheduled to reach Auckland on November 12. The other discharging ports are Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru and Dunedin. The Canadian Traveller sailed from Montreal on October 1, and is due at Auckland on November 14. The chartered steamer Eastmoor was scheduled to clear Montreal on October 10 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. She is due at Auckland about November 23. The Canadian Britisher is to be dispatched from Montreal for New Zealand on October 25. The steamers mentioned will all bring cargo at a fixed rate of £1 a ton.
