MILFORD LIFE-SAVERS
YOUNG CLUB’S HEALTHY POSITION Assets totalling £94, of which £4l was cash in the bank, was the sound position revealed at ihe annual meeting of the Milford Surf and LifeSaving Club, held last evening. The president. Mr. E. A. Wilson, presided over a good attendance. Presenting the annual report the chairman said that during the past year club numbers had given splendid service, and had kept interest in the club very much 'l Hiring the year a fine rescue had been effected by two of the members, Messrs. C. Bacon and T. KilUker, vhen a young woman had been saved from drowning. Mr K A. Luidlaw made an offer of a gold medal for competition, and a donation of JLIO was received from the Takapuna Borough Council. The retiring secretary, Mr. A. t>. Coleman, who did not seek re-election, was elected the first life member of the club in appreciation of valuable services rendered to the club since its inception four years ago. The opening day was fixed for Labour Day, when demonstrations will be given. The following officers were elected:— Patron. Mr. A. Harris, M.P.: president, Mr. E. A. Wilson; vice-presidents, Messrs. Williamson, F. llawes, J. F. Close; committee. Messrs. T. Anderson. C. Bacon, 11. Chandler, T. Hiiliker. A. C. Faulkner, E. A. Fountain; club captain, Mr. F. Bailey; honorary medical officers. Drs. Baxter, Noonan, Baldwin and Wake; secretary ami treasurer, Mr. W. Fraser; hon. auditor, Mr. L. J. Minogue: delegates to the Royal Life Saving Society, Messrs. C. Bacon and T. Hiiliker.
