SETTLED AT LAST?
WARKWORTH HOSPITAL TROUBLE All is not going smoothly at Warkworth Cottage Hospital, though it was reopened under Sister Gertrude Greaves on October 1. After a fortnight’s attendance here. Sister Greaves left to attend her brother, who was ill, and subsequently resigned. Now the medical officer, Dr. Kenrick Dean, has resigned. The Auckland Hospital Board received the resignation yesterday, and also applications from Dr. R. V. Shaw and Dr. G. M. East for the position. The chairman explained that a Miss Walker, of Whangarei, was filling the position of sister-in-charge for the time being. After the board had appointed Dr. East as medical officer, a letter was read from the Manchester Unity Oddfellows urging the appointment of Dr. G. H. Osborne. The board decided to abide by its decision.
