RECORD BOOKINGS
RAIL EXCURSION TO *, ROTORUA LABOUR DAY WEEK-END The bookings for the railway excursion which is to be run to Rotorua for Labour Day week-end are already a record. Moreover, many of the excursionists have taken advantage of the Railway Department’s new policy of booking accommodation for them. The train, on which seats can be reserved, will leave Auckland at 1.6 o’clock on Saturday afternoon and will leave Rotorua on the return journey at 4.5 o’clock on Monday afternoon. Fares for this excursion represent a 50 per cent, reduction. During the coming summer the railway department proposes to run personally conducted excursions to the various scenic resorts in the province, including Rotorua, Waitomo Caves, Arapuni, Tauranga, Russell and other places.
