AT PEACE AGAIN
NORTH ISLAND MAORIS NEW BISHOP CONGRATULATED The long-standing estrangement between the Ngapuhi tribe and the rest of the North Island Maori* was now ended as the result of a Maori gathering .at Awapuni, near Gisborne, the Rev. W. N. Panama told the Auckland Diocesan Synod yesterday. Mr. Panapa supported the resolution of congratulation from the synod to the Rev. F. A. Bennett, BishopDesignate of Ao-tea-rda, Several speakers paid a tribute to the bishop-designate, and the resolution was carried amid applause.
