GREAT EMPIRE BROADCAST CENOTAPH SERVICE (United Service) LONDON, Monday. The “Dally Mall” says the service at the Cenotaph, in London, on Armistice Day. vv i] 1 be broadcast on an unprecedented scale. The paper remarks that never before have the people of the Empire been able to join so intimately with his Majesty in paying tribute to their dead. heroes, as they will be on the forthcoming occasion. King George, who will be accompanied by the Duke of York, will lay a wreath on the Cenotaph prior the two minutes’ silence after a selection has been played by the Guards’ Band. The Archbishop-elect of Canterbury, Dr. Cosmo Gordon Lang, will conduct the service. Britons in touch with wireless throughout the Empire will be able to take part in the observance of the period of silence as Big Ben booms out the hour of 11 a.m.
