WESTMORELAND SAILS TO-MOR-ROW.—To-morrow afternoon the local office .of the New Zealand Shipping Company hopes to dispatch the Federal steamer Westmoreland from Auckland for London, via Panama. NIAGARA FOR VANCOUVER.—Leaving Sydney on Friday for Auckland, the Union Company’s R.M.S. Niagara is due here next Monday evening, and is to sail at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 24, for Suva, Honolulu, Victoria and Vancouver. WAIRUNA LEAVES NEW PLYMOUTH. —The local office of the Union Company has been advised that the Wairuna left New Plymouth at 10.30 p.m. yesterday for Auckland, where she is due on Thursday. She is to be dispatched from this port the same day for Apia, Samoa, Fanning Island and Vancouver. MAUI POMARE SAILING. —The Government motor-ship Maui Pomare leaves Auckland at 5 o’clock this afternoon for Niue Island, thence Apia, Samoa, thence Niue Island to load for Lyttelton, Wellington and Auckland. She is due at Lyttelton on November 5 and at Auckland on November 10, sailing from here again on November 12 for Norfolk Island. ULIMAROA DUE AT WELLINGTON. —The local office of Huddart-Parker, Ltd., has been advised that passenger steamer Ulimaroa is due at Wellington at noon to-day from Sydney. She is the only passenger vessel due at New Zealand ports this week from Sydney. She leaves Wellington at noon on Friday on her return trip to the New South Wales port. TAINUI LEAVES SOUTHAMPTON. — The Shaw, Savill Company has received cabled advice that their liner Tainui cleared Southampton on Friday afternoon with passengers and cargo for New Zealand ports. She is due at Wellington on November . 17 to disembark lier passengers only, and will leave again later the same day for Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Bluff, to discharge her cargo. RUAHINE’S ITINERARY.—The local office of the New Zealand Shipping Company has been advised that the liner Ruahine leaves Wellington to-morrow for Lyttelton, where she completes her discharge of London cargo and commences loading for her return voyage. She then comes to Auckland and is due here on October 26. The liner sails from this port on November 3 for Wellington, thence Napier, to fill up. and is now scheduled to clear the latter port on November 10 for Southampton and London via Panama. THE CUTTER DEVERON. —One of the oldest, if not the oldest sailing vessel in commission in New Zealand waters is the little cutter Deveron. at. present at Wellington. She was built 47 years ago at North Shore. Auckland, and Is constructed of heart of kauri with hardwood frames. For some years she was engaged in oyster-fishing out of Bluff, and subsequently for 22 years ran cargo between Lyttelton and Akaroa. Lately the Deveron has run sand from Port Underwood to Wellington, and will probably be engaged shortly in carrying stone in Wellington Harbour. She is a vessel of 40 tons gross. Captain Ipsen is in command.
