YOUTH ATTACKS SAILOR
FRIEND TRIES TO STOP FIGHT “TOO MUCH TO DRINK” Memories of their wild time on evening were recalled when two friends stood together in the Police Court dock this morning, Leonard Charles Green and Victor Emanuel 'Williams, both labourers, and both aged 19, were charged with being disorderly while drunk in Karangahape Road. The former "admitted the offence and the latter pleaded not guilty. Constable Frain saw both youths in Ivarangahape Road about half-past seven. They had accosted a sailor, who had two women with him. The women went away, and Green struck the sailor, while Williams held his arms. "They, were not drunk enough to be arrested had they behaved themselves." concluded the constable. ■Williams explained that he was holding the sailor's arms to stop him hitting Green. Neither he nor his friend were looking for a fight. “The truth is that you both had too much liquor,” said Mr. F. K- Hunt, S.M., as he fined Green £l, and dismissed the information against Williams,
