SATURDAY’S EVENTS NEW LYNN CLUB The New Lynn Gun Club held its shoot at New Lynn on Saturday. In a seven-birds match in the competition for the Murrell Cup, R. Severn, 12yds, L. Ramsay, 12yds, C. Hodge, 17yds, and A. Thompson, 13yds, tied with six each. A 15-birds match for Mr. Hannigan’s trophy resulted in B. Grayson, 16yds. A. Hannigan, 17yds, C. Hodges, 18yds, and E. Gallic, 14yds, tieing with 13 each. In the shoot-off C. Hodge wffs declared the winner, with B. Grayson runner-up. The attendance was large, conditions for shooting being very rough. The next shoot will take place at the club’s new grounds in Archibald Road, New Lynn, next Saturday afternoon. HAMILTON CLUB (From Our Own Correspondent) HAMILTON, Saturday. The Hamilton Gun Club held a series of sweeps at Ruakura to-day. A trophy presented by Mr. E. O’Kane provided an exciting contest. Three shooters tied for the trophy. The results were: No. 1 Sweep, 6 Birds.—P. Jelavich and C. Seddon tied with the possibles. No. 2 Sweep, 6 Birds.—C. Seddon and J. McMiken tied with the possible. No. 3, 10 Birds, for Mr. O’Kane’s Trophy.—C. Seddon, W. Woolven and A. Woolven tied with 9 each. The shoot-off was won by C. Seddon. A. Woolven was second and W. Woolven third. No. 4 Shoot, Gimcrack, 6 Birds.—H. Earle, C. Seddon and J. Jelavich tied with 5 each and divided. No. 5 Shoot, 6 Birds.—J. McMiken won with the possible. C. Seddon and W. Woolven tied for second place.
