Obituary

MRS. CHAS. HINTON The death occurred at Te Awamutu on Friday of Mrs. Charles Hinton, aged 63, after a severe illness. She leaves a husband, four sons and eight daughters. The funeral, which took place at Te Awamutu cemetery on Sunday, was largely attended. MRS. M. L. WHITEHORN Mrs. May Lilian Whitehorn, for 20 years principal and proprietress of Sonning Girls’ School (now Diocesan School), Hamilton, died yesterday. She was a daughter of Mr. James Caffin, and was born in Melbourne and educated in Dunedin. She retired three years ago, and on medical advice took a trip to England. She returned a year ago. She leaves one daughter.
