BUTTER AND CHEESE BOARD’S LONDON REPORT Under date October 12 the London office of the New Zealand Dairy Produce Control Board cabled the following market resume, last week’s prices being given in parentheses:— Butter New Zealand, salted, 17Ss to 184 s (178 s to 184 s); unsalted butter very scarce; first grade whey. 164 s (1645); second grade whey, 160 s (160 s). Deliveries New Zealand this week, 650 tons; in store, 3,250 tons. Australian, finest salted, 166 s to 172 s (166 s to 1725). Argentine, finest unsalted, 176 s to 17Ss (176 s to ISOs); exceptional, lS2s (182 s). Irish creamery, salted, 174 sto 176 s (174 s to 1765); unsalted, 17Ss (178 s to 180 s). Danish, spot, 192 sto 104 s (195 sto 1965); f.0.b., lS6s (190 s to 191 s). Dutch, unsalted, ISSs to 192 s (188 s to 1925). Esthonian. ISOs to lS4s, up to 186 s. Siberian, 158 s to 160 s (160 s to 1625). Ukrainian, 162 s to 164 s (162 s to 1665). Market quiet except for unsalted butters. Retail prices unchanged, Cheese New Zealand, white, 110 s to 112 s (112 s to 113 s); coloured, 109 s to 110 s, up to Ills (110 sto Ills). Deliveries New Zealand this week, 4.550 crates; in store, 26.000 crates. Canadian, white and coloured, 108 s to 112 s (110 s to 112 s); c.i.f., IOSs (106 s to 107 s). English finest farmers’, 138 sto 140 s (134 sto 13Ss). Demand improving, retail prices unchanged. North American Prices The board has also received the following advice from its agents in Canada: flutter: New York, 47 cents (Is llid); Montreal, 353 cents (1 7 3-Sd). Canadian butter stocks are 9,000,0001 b. below last year.
