Further Rise in Renown
LITTLE activity was registered at the week’s opening calls on 'Change this morning. Only one sale 'was recorded.
A further rise in Renowns was the principal feature of this morning's market, buyers for this scrip improving to 14s. Sellers were in at 15s at the early call but withdrew at mid-day to 15s 6d. There appears to be a very steady inquiry for the scrip at the moment from investors anticipating higher levels at the end of the company’s next financial year. Other shares In the coal group are steady at late quotations. In the loan and agency section Da 1getys are sought on a very firm mar-
ket, buyers improving to £ls 2s 6d at mid-day without attracting sellers. Guarantee Corps, are sought, ex div., at 8s 6d, sellers not being prepared to make a declaration. A very healthy tone is recorded In woollens, with steady buyers in for most shares and the market registering a rising tendency. Sanfords show slightly more strength with sellers now asking 19s. Pictures are very firm. Business this morning.—Reported: Wilsons Cement, 39s 3d.
