ROUND THE CHURCHES
The Rev. Edgar Ward, vicar of Kui-.-taia, will preach at the morning service at St. Mary's Cathedral, and in the evening the Bishop of Christchurch will speak. Archbishop Averill will be tho celebrant at Holy Communion at 8 a.m. The. morning service at St. Matthew’s Church Will bo conducted by the Rev. Cliarles Chandler, and -in the evening Bishop Anderson, will preach. Tho Rev. D. D. Rodger will preach at 11 a.m. at the Edendale Presbyterian Church, and at 7 p.m. the Rev. W. Gilmour will speak. At the Somervell Church the Rev. J. Pattison will preach at both services. * * * The Associated Churches of Christ will hold services as usual at Ponsonby Road, Dominion Road, Onehunga, Richmond, Avondale, Devonport, Point Chevalier and Mount Albert. At the evening service at the Spiritual Scientists’ Church, Newton, the Rev. J. G. Hughes will give an address on “The Function of Spiritualism as a Synthesising Factor in the Thought and Life of the World.” The First Church of Christ, Scientist, will hold services as usual in the Church Hall, Synionds Street, at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. The Rev. C. G. Scrimgeour, of the Auckland Central Mission, will speak at the evening service at St. John’s Methodist Church, Ponsonby. Tlie Rev. C. H. Laws will preach in the morning. * *. * At the Grange Road Baptist Church the Rev. A. S. Wilson will speak on “Christian Beniflcence” at 11 a.m., and on “Christian Citizenship” at 7 p.m. Mrs. Hudson will conduct a spiritual circle at 7 p.m. at the Progressive Spiritualist Church, Alma Street, Newmarket. The speaker at the afternoon service at the Y.M.C.A. will be Mr. J. W. Watson. Sister Bessie will speak at the evening service at the Methodist Central Mission. Bible class members will conduct the evening service at France Street.
