EXCITING STREET DUEL “CHICAGO OF THE ORIENT” (United P.A.—By Telexrraph — Copyright) (United Serrtjcc) Reed. 9.13 a.m. SHANGHAI, Friday. Another affray, typical of those which are causing Shanghai to be known at the Chicago ov the Orient, occurred to-day, when Chinese armed robbers stormed industrial' premises in the western district, held up the accountants’ department, and departed with S,OOO dollars. The Japanese manager of tUe concern conveyed Jhe information to the police, and accompanied by Seryteant Hutton, an Englishman, he discovered the three men along the road. An exciting revolver duel ensued, Sergeant Hutton, single-handed, returning the fire of two of the mis creants, who were captured. Part of the money was recovered. i This is the third or fourth time Sergeant Hutton has distinguished himself in pistol duels with armed Chinese ruffians. Previously, in one battle, he killed four armed kidnappers.
