UNDODGEABLE TORPEDO

TESTS OF A SUBMARINE (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) (United Sei'vice) LONDON, Thursday. Submarine experts from the Admiralty will to-morrow witness secret trials of a Chilean destroyer which was built at Thornycroft’s yards. She is equipped with the latest and fastest 21-inch torpedo, and has a speed of 45 knots. The tests will include angle-firing, one of the marvels of recent developments. An instrument directs the torpedo’s course, so that if a ship dodges the torpedo turns correspondingly.
