MEN’S GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP.—The New Zealand championship opened at Balmacewan, Dunedin, yesterday. On the first day’s play the placing was as follows: K. Ross (Otago), T. H. Horton (Masterton), J. D. Mclntosh (Gisborne), R. C. Butters (Wellington), S. Morpeth (Auckland).
