The Old West lingered longest of all in the moving picture studios, but the knell of its passing sounds with news that the Universal stables, such as the Western outfits of Jack Hoxie, Eddie Polo and Harry Carey, have become the site for a talking picture plant, say an American exchange.
In order to make room for tour sound stages and other talking pictures at William Fox’s studio, the ranch where Tom Mix used to make pictures, was pushed off the map. And at Paramount the barn, noted as the birthplace of Paramount pictures, has Veen moved to make room for a new sound stage.
