How really feminine is the trend of this season’s fashion is seen in the latest poke bonnet hats. Who could have imagined that fashion would be so romantic as to give to the modern girl those chic little creations always associated with the blushing heroines of story-books? That closely fitting line oi the nape of the neck which the bonnet hat gives is a welcome change from the conventional appearance of the widebrimmed hat, and the novel curly brim which leaves the eyes visible is a pleasant departure from the cloche fashion-

Tlie new millinery keeps to fine felts and displays feather trimmings in abundance. Velvet flowers of many colours have second place, but artificial flowers —none at all. Trimming under the brim is one of tho main effects of the bonnet fashion. Soft osprey fronds curving down gracefully on to the cheek are a distinctive mode which will be popular during summer’s regime. Some startling geometrical designs are carried out in pale gold felt embossed with black circles and triangles, but feminine trimmings, particularly feathers, are foremost.
