Demand For Picture Shares BUSINESS closed for the week on ’Change this morning with the market registering a very healthy tone. The tendency at the moment is to pass over banks and insurances for scrip which shows prospects of greater immediate return. Coals and pictures are meeting with a very firm demand.
The demand for loan and agency scrip is well sustained, the market closing this morning with the call sheet bare of sellers and firm buyers in for most shares. New Zealand L<oan and Mercantile Agencies have hardened to see buyers offering £ll6. In the miscellaneous group Gear Meats show increased strength, and buyers, improved to 425, fail to attract sellers. Haywards’ Pictures are now sought at 21s, with the market indicating higher prices. H.M. Arcade Thea-
trc preference are also sought on higher lev-els, buyers offering 21s 6d this morning. Sanfords continue out of favour, and a sale was recorded at 18s yesterday afternoon. Business yesterday afternoon: Commercial Bank of Australia (pref.), £7 7s 6d; New Zealand Insurance, 455; Farmers’ Trading (ord.), 7s 9d; Hayward’s Pictures, 21s; Sanfords (ord.), 18s; Grand Junction Mining, lOd.
