AUCKLAND PROGRAMME BIG SEASON IN PROSPECT Following is the Auckland Rowing Club's programme of trials, arranged until December 31; October 13: Club trophies (for last season rowers only). October 27: Four-oar trials for Wm. Clark Memorial Shield. November 10: Four-oar trials for Henderson Cup. November 24: Four-oar trials for Air. li. Schmidt's trophies. December 8: Four-oar trials for pewter mug. December 15: Four-oar trials for Kohn Challenge Cup. Although new members will not be racing this Saturday, one of the practice fours and the pair tub have been set aside for their use during the afternoon. Several new members should appear in the trials set down for October 27. The Caro Cup, an inter-club trophy, controlled by the club, has again been allotted to the double scullers for competition- ' The conditions of racing for the Dr. Stuart Reid eight-oar cup have been altered from challenge cup rules. For the Dast four years this trophy has been under challenge cup rules, but this season the executive has decided to withdraw it from this class of racing and to hold an eight-oar interclub afternoon for this trophy. New rules are being drawn up. The Caro Cup and Dr. Stuart Reid Cup races will be the main features of the club’s annual "At Home,” which will be held on Saturday, February 23. The 1928-29 season is the club’s 60th season, and the committee is planning to make it, in every way, one of the club’s most successful seasons. Past members would do well to let club officials have their present addresses to ensure receiving their invitations to this season’s functions. UNIVERSITY ROWING CLUB FIRST ANNUAL MEETING The Auckland University College Rowing Club held its first annual meeting last evening. Mr* M. Rocke O'Shea, presided. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Mr. M. Rockc O’Shea: vice-president, Professor R. M. Algic; captain, Mr. L. E. Brooker; vice-captain, Mr. C. T. Keegan; executive committee. Messrs. A. Ross. F. F. Simmoiuls, J. Blakcy; auditor, Mr. H. W. Shove: trustees. Mr. M. Rocke O’Shea, Professor R. M. Algie, Air. A. K. Turner. The election of the selection committee and delegates to the Auckland Rowing Association was left to the incoming committee. LAWN TENNIS ANNUAL MEETINGS Otorohanga.—Mr. P. F. Skinner presided. The balance sheet showed a satisfactory position, and the report stated that a new concrete court and a fourth sand court had been laid down during the past season. The following officers were elected: Patron, Mr. F Phillips; president, Mr. P. F. Skinner, vice-presidents, Messrs. S. J. Fortesque, R- F. Park and Dr. Gilberd; auditor.
