SPORT IN AUCKLAND LOSES A GOOD FRIEND
THERE will be a feeling of “*■ deep and sincere regret in Auckland sport at the sudden death of Mr. F. W. H. Brinsden, When he was appointed the chairman of the Parks and Reserves Committee of the Auckland City Council, He found himself faced with a deplorable shortage of playing areas. It remained for the l*te Mr. Brinsden to tackle the problem with vigorous energy and a keen sympathy for the encouragement of outdoor sport. There will be genuine regret that he did not live to see his progressive work brought to a successful issue, but he formulated a sound policy, which, it is to be hoped, will be carried on by his successor. Auckland sport as a whole will extend its sincere svmnathy to Mrs. Brinsden and family. _
