It was after ne liad suffered the worst of the deal that Wesley Ketchell (U.S.A.) knocked out George Thompson, heavy-weight champion of Australia, in the seventh round of their fight at the Sydney Stadium. Ketchell weighed 11.5 to Thompson’s 12.10. The American, who is a “southpaw,” was in a bad way in the fourth round, and was only just able to regain his feet at a count of nine seconds.
