DODSON—BRYANT A pretty wedding was celebrated at all Saints’ Church, Matamata, on Wednesday, when Miss Dorothy Snowdon Bryant, only daughter of Mrs. G. H. Bryant, of Ealing, London, and the late Major Bryant (Royal Engineers), was married to Mr. Henry Francis Dodson, eldest son of Mr. and Mi's. R. Dodson, Gisborne. The bride, who was given away by her mother, wore a simple dress of white crepe de chine with a long tulle veil and orange blossoms, and carried a beautiful sheaf bouquet of lilies. Miss Barbara (Betty) Frisco was bridesmaid, and her dress was of -eau de nil crepe d© chine, with mauve ribbon and flowers. She carried a bouquet of primroses and violets. Mr. Martin Dodson, Gisborne, brother of the bridegroom, carried out the duties of best man, and the ceremony was performed by the Rev. C. W. Turner. The local troops of Girl Guides and Brownies, of which the bride was captain, attended in full force and formed a guard of honour. The subsequent reception was held at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Hytton Brisco, “The Towers,” Matamata. Among those present were Mesdames Brisco, sen., C. E. Barry, J. W. Simpson, T. Prowse, C. W. Turner, Hawes, Misses Beth Clarke (Ealing, London). Paltridge, North, P. Duxfield, J. Dunbar and M. Simpson. Mr. and Mrs. Dodson, after their honeymoon, will take up their residence at Waipu Estate, Putaruru.
GREGORY-HADFIELD The wedding of Miss Jessie lladj field, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. ; A. Hadfield, to Mr. Cecil Clarence jGregory, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. ; F. Gregory, of Lymington, England, was celebrated last evening in the ; Bii'kenhead Methodist Church. The I llev. J. H. Allan performed the ceremony, and Mr. George Warth presided at the organ. The bride was given away by her father. Her wedding gown was of white georgette, finished with a hem of silver lace, and trimmings of silver. Her veil was embroidered in white and silver, • and she carried a bouquet of white stock and iceland poppies. Miss Joy Hadfield and Miss Zilma Sampson attended as bridesmaids, dressed in frocks of blue and pink georgette respectively. The frocks wero trimmed with silver, and both wore head-dresses of tulle and carried bouquets of pink stock finished with pink ribbons. Mr. George Barrett was best man, and Mr. Hector Morrison attended as groomsman. The church was prettily decorated with white flowers and ribbons, and a reception was held after the ceremony in the schoolroom adjoining the j church, which was decorated with Iceland poppies and ferns. The guests ' wero received by the bride’s mother, whose frock was of grey crepe de chine. A hat of blue trimmed with grey to tone was worn. Among the guests were:—Miss -Dorothy Hadfield. BOSWELL—ADAMS A pretty frock of ivory crepe de chine, fashioned with a flared skirt, and finished with ties of silver lace, a veil of silk held in place by a coronet of orange blossoms, and a shower bouquet of white carnations and pink flowers, was the toilette chosen by Miss Mabel Doreen Adams, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. Adams, of Station Road, Otahuliu, on the occasion of her wedding to Mr. Gerald Reed Boswell, second son of Mr. and Mrs. IT. Boswell, of Frankley Park, New Plymouth. The ceremony was performed in St. Andrew’s Church on Wednesday last, the Rev. W. T. Currie officiating. Miss Johnston was the organist, and the bride was given away by her father. Miss Amy Adams and Miss Jean Boswell were bridesmaids. The former wore a frock of apple green georgette, finished with a hem of silver lace and a silver posy at the shoulder, a head-dress of tulle, and carrying a shower bouquet ending in streamers of tulle. The latter was dressed in a frock of mauve silk georgette, trimmed with silver. A headdress of tulle to match was worn, and a* bouquet with tulle streamers was carried. Mr. Alex Boswell attended the bridegroom as best man, and Mr. O. Rees as groomsman. A reception was held in St. Andrew’s Hall, Station Road, Otaliuhu. The table decorations were carried out in ,
bluo cinerarias arid white daisies, and a large wedding bell with streamers was hung from the ceiling. The bride’s mother received the guests', wearing a frqck of black pleated georgette, reliev'd with trimmings of fawn,, and a black hat. The bridegroom’s mother wore a navy marocain frock trimmed with fawn, and a hat of black.
