CAPITOL AND EDENDALE
“A NIGHT OF MYSTERY” A strong double-feature programme will be presented at both the Capitol and Edendale Theatres this evening. The first picture will be “Finders Keepers.” Laura La Plante’s latest comedy. The action is laid in a training camp in war times, and concerns the love affair of Miss La. Plante, daughter of the camp commandant, who is in love with a private. All around her are handsome young officers, whom she and the private trick. Plenty of good comedy situations ensue when the private fools the officers—and that is dangerous business in the Army. MflSs La Plante reaches the heights of comedy when she impersonates a private and has to take her place in the ranks and do the manual of arms. “A Night of Mystery” will be the second attraction. This is a striking romantic story, with the popular Adolphe Menjou in the role of a French cavalry officer. Before Sue Carrol left for Europe to make “Chasing Through Europe,” a Fox picture, she signed to be featured in a series of Fox pictures. Sue Carroll will shortly be seen with David Rollins the Fox production of “The Air Circus.” Remember “Captain Flagg” of “What Price Glory”? Well, here comes Victor McLaglen in an equally powerful, though interesting, contrasting role. An unforgettable performance is his “Sailors Frink,” in the Fox Films’ production “The River Pirate,” the grinning giant who terrorises the waterfront of a metropolitan city, smashes the law to smithereens in his quest for the thrills of dangerous adventure and big loot. Nick Stuart and Lois Moran, also have prominent roles in this drama of modern pirates and their daring methods of pillage.
